The Netherlands is the most densely populated country in Europe; its infrastructure is abundant and meticulously maintained, with every square metre cherished. A fight for land that has been brewing up since the 11th century, the vicious cycle that is to build, to demolish, to build again.
This is an archive of the old, new, demolished, reused and omnipresent Dutch brick. Each metal brick is a reproduction of its counterpart found in a construction site in Enschede, within a wall, on a palet ready for use, rotting after a demolition. Feel the texture of the bricks, what stories lay engrained in the new, the discarded, the abandoned, the polished brick?
